EXPOTROF’s Parallel Events highlight contemporary culinary trends

A rich culinary program of parallel events full of knowledge, information and technique will take place at the 9th EXPO – The Greek Fine Food Exhibition, from February 4 to 6, 2023, at the MEC Paianas.

The 9th EXPO adopts a unique concept for domestic data, dedicating all days of the exhibition to modern culinary trends through three different stages. Information, technique and tasting is the triptych that characterizes this year’s events and is based on the three pillars of Sustainability, Farm to Table and Authenticity.

On the stage of “Cooking Greece” the host Chef Costas Bougiouris with the assistance of the main presenter chef and foodblogger Mrs. Evas Parakentakis, will welcome distinguished chefs from every corner of Greece to the stage and through delightful culinary events of the regions of the country, they will “travel » visitors to the exhibition in the Greek territory.

At the same time, on the stage of Cooking Greece, invited chefs such as the Executive Pastry Chef of the Four Seasons Athens, Michalis Hatzikalimeris, the Pastry Chef of Varoulkos, Thodoris Mousidis, the Executive Chef of the Athens Capital Hotel – M Gallery, Dimitris Boutsalis, the Consultant and Restaurant Menu Creator and Hotels, Alexandros Koskinas talk to the presenters Konstantinos Bougiouri and Magda Peistiki about the culinary trends in Greece and abroad and cook live, their signature dishes, of today or tomorrow.

In the specially designed Food Expert Stories area, professionals in the food and beverage sector, in a single visit to EXPOTROF, are trained and informed at the same time. The 9th EXPO is addressed to every catering professional who wishes to strengthen his competitiveness with the unique vehicle of education and information and provides free trainings on modern topics, focus on the local producer and discussion panel with the participation of leading professionals. Every day distinguished guests from the field of gastronomy, marketing and social media will talk about the culinary trends that dominate at an international level, they will present us with success stories in a rich program of open space seminars. The leading chefs of the Greek cuisine Gikas Xenakis, Alexandros Charalambopoulos, Dimitris Dimitriadis, Konstantina Faklaris talk with Yiannis Devetzoglou and Taste ID about the ways in which Greek traditional cuisine can evolve, while the consulting economist Konstantinos Pantelis and the food technologist Athanasios Papageorgiou explain the necessity of certification for the operation of businesses.

The program of parallel events includes for the first time the Drink & Spirits event, where the producers of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages of the exhibition will present their products to the visitors and introduce them to the secrets of winemaking, brewing and mixology, hosted by the talented bartender Kostas Bass.

Two different awards will take place during the three days of the exhibition. On Sunday 5/2 at 18.00 the quality and taste awards of the Athens Fine Food Awards (AFFA) 2023 will be awarded, the only awards that honor and evaluate Greek food through the blind tasting process. Meanwhile, on Monday 6/2 at 3:30 p.m., the list of the 100 best restaurants in Greece for 2023 will be announced, as voted by the Dreaters audience.
