3rd Greek Chef Contest 2018 Information – Categories

The Food and Beverage Exhibition “EXPOTROF” and the Crete’s Chef Club co-organize, for the third time the National Contest «Greek Chef 2018» which will highlight the next top Chefs of the country. With the valuable help of the Club of Dodecanese and Cyclades, Corfu, Peloponnese, the 3rd National Cooking Contest will promote local products, Greek cuisine and the Mediterranean diet, while the participation of the distinguished Greek chefs in the jury will give the prestige of an international competition and will raise the bar for unique gastronomic creations.

The contest is addressed both to cooking schools students who wish to show their talent and to professional Chefs who want to make their art known to the general public. The Cooking Contest which aspires to become a tradition, will take place in the context of the 5th EXPOTROF exhibition, which will be held from 26th to 29th of January 2018 at the Olympic Fencing Center in Elliniko.

In 2017, the interest for the competition was extremely high, as in the 2nd National Competition “Greek Chef 2017” participated 400 students of cooking schools but also professional Chefs as well. The competition was honored with the attendance almost all Greek cooking schools sending representatives, while the dishes that were prepared impressed audiences and judges. For 2018, this number is expected to increase significantly as both professionals and Chef students are growing interest.

In this year’s event the interest is growing even more because except from “Greek Chef 2018” is also being launched the category of “Young Greek Chef” which is addressed to students of public and private institutes and forms the highest distinction in schools level.

Notes: The entry form will be open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00 until the entries are completed.A strict order of priority will be respected and there will be up to 5 runners-up in each category.Entries close 20/1/18.
