“Mediterranean Nutrition” Workshop at 5th EXPOTROF

The Hellenic-Turkish Chamber of Commerce organizes a workshop over the “Mediterranean Diet”, on Friday 26th of January 2018, between 16:00-19:00, at the Food & Beverage «5th EXPOTROF & GREEK PRODUCERS», which will take place at the Olympic fencing Center in Elliniko.

The purpose of the conference is to highlight the beneficial effects of the traditional Mediterranean diet for the protection of the health of citizens, with the simultaneous highlighting and promotion of Greek businesses, that produce and trade traditional products.

The event will be greeted by the President of the Greek-Turkish Chamber Mr. Panagiotis Koutsikos and will be followed by speeches and discussions with selected scientists. The event will be open το the public.

The detailed program of the event is as follows:

16:00 – 16:10 Greeting – Panagiotis Koutsikos, businessman, president of ΕΤΕΕ.

16:10 – 16:30 ‘‘Our traditional diet: Yesterday as a model for tomorrow ” Dr. Antonia Trichopoulou, Professor of the Athens School of Medicine and the National School of Public Health, President of the Hellenic Foundation for Health.

16:30 – 16:50 ‘‘Ensuring the quality of traditional products of Greek land” Nikos Katsaros, former President of ΕFEΤ, Scientific Associate of ΕΚΕFΕ «Dimokritos» and Director of NYC Nutrition Department.

16:50 – 17:10 ‘‘Nutritional and Mediterranean Diet” Dr. Sideridou Maria, Molecular Biologist, Doctor of Athens Medical School, Professor at Metropolitan College.

17:10 – 17:30 ‘‘The model of the Mediterranean Diet as a Tourist Product ‘Giorgos Lazaridis, Biologist, Professor of Nutrition Department of the Metropolitan College, Athens. PhDc Mediterranean Diet, Harokopio University of Athens.

17:30 – 17:50 “Teaching children to eat Mediterranean food” Konstantinos Daloukas, Pediatrist.

17:50 – 18:10 “Mediterranean Diet and Diabetes “Koutrobouli Stavroula – Lina, Endocrinologist – Diabetologist.

18:10 – 18:55 Questions – Discussion. Discussion Coordinator: Dr. Stoupi Stavroula, Academic Chief of Department of Dietetics of Metropolitan College, Athens. PhD Diet & Metabolism, from the University of Surrey, UK.

18:55 – 19:00 Conclusions – Irene Rousinelou
